Therapies

“Nature is not a place to visit. It is home.” – Gary Snyder

Reiki

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) means 'universal life force'.

Reiki is a form of healing energy that promotes deep relaxation, stress relief and a wonderful sense of peace.

It works on the whole person, including mind, body, emotions and spirit. Reiki enhances the body’s natural ability to rebalance itself and is very comforting to receive. Reiki can also encourage a calmer response to the challenges we face in life.

Reiki is safe for people of all ages, from babies to the elderly.

During a Reiki session you remain fully clothed, whilst either lying or sitting and I put my hands either on or slightly above your body.

Distance Reiki

“All healing is first a healing of the heart” – Carl Townsend

Distance Reiki is useful for those who cannot attend in person and it involves you finding a quiet space at home and lying or sitting for an hour at your appointment time. I know for some people this concept is difficult to understand so you may find this article of interest. Full instructions for your session are issued on booking.

“Thanks again for today, I really didn’t know what to expect but would definitely recommend Distance Reiki. If you open your mind it’s amazing what you discover”.

Reflexology

Reflexology is the stimulation of points on the Feet, Face, Ears and Hands which relate to all parts of the body.

Reflexology helps your body to stimulate natural energy to rebalance itself, relieve tension and encourage healing from the inside out.

Reflexology may benefit many issues including the following:

PMS/menopausal symptoms

Hormonal imbalances

Digestive issues

Joint pain and mobility (arthritis, sore back, stiff joints)

Respiratory problems (asthma, ear, nose and throat problems)

sleep issues

Sinusitis and hay fever

Fibromyalgia

Foot Reflexology

“The human foot is a masterpiece of engineering and a work of art” – Leonardo da Vinci

The main aim of Reflexology is to promote and encourage relaxation, restful sleep and induce a state of calm and well-being throughout your body and mind.

Reflexology does not cure, as only the body can do that, but it does facilitate healing and balancing within the body.

During a foot Reflexology session you only remove your shoes and socks and then lie back and relax – and no it doesn’t tickle.

Ear Reflexology

Ear Reflexology also known as Auricular Therapy is well researched and has been acknowledged for its effectiveness in helping with issues such as physical and emotional pain, mobility and allergies.

Ear Seeds are commonly used in Ear Reflexology as the seeds carry on working the reflex point after your session, for sustained benefit. I have found it to be particularly useful for sinus issues, hay fever symptoms, headaches, joint and muscle pain. Like all Reflexology it is wonderful for reducing feelings of stress and anxiety and promoting a wonderful sense of wellbeing.

Facial Reflexology

(Bergman Method)

Facial Reflexology has the same benefits as Foot Reflexology and as we store a lot of emotions in our face, working the facial reflexes can assist to give a lovely fresh, glowing complexion and relieve mental tension and tight facial muscles. It may be useful for stress, headaches, migraines, bruxism, bells palsy and sinus issues.

This treatment starts with a hot towel cleanse before applying organic face oil, then carrying out a gentle décolletage and neck massage prior to your Facial Reflexology.

If you don’t like your feet being touched but would love to experience the many benefits of Reflexology then Facial Reflexology is for you.

“All the busyness in my head and tension in my shoulders completely drained away”

More than looking better...

Bear in mind this treatment is about so much more than just looking better – it is promoting self-healing, relaxation and improving your well-being. It’s about balancing the mind and body to leave you feeling like the best version of you. One client was delighted that besides the amazing difference she could see and feel on her face, that she also felt happier and her painful arthritis had eased.

Creator of ZFL Ziggie Bergman describes it as “it’s not about looking perfect, it’s about looking like the best version of yourself.” I would go even further and say that it’s not only about looking like the best version of you, it’s also about feeling like the best version of you.

ZFL Before and After

Although the focus is on how amazing clients feel after their treatment, sometimes pictures speak louder than words.

If you have had facial fillers or botox you must allow at least 3 weeks before receiving a treatment.

“It felt like the last 18 months of tension had lifted from my head, body and mind.”

Swedish Massage

Massage is a wonderful way to ease aches and pains and to reduce stress and anxiety caused by modern day living.

Massage may benefit the following:

Relief from muscle tension, aches and pains

Greater flexibility and range of motion

Reduction in fatigue

Improve sleep pattern

Improve circulation, enhance energy and vitality

Encourage relaxation, improve mood, reduce anxiety and stress

Where necessary I incorporate Hands Free Massage techniques (use of forearms and elbows), along with traditional Swedish Massage moves to allow for a deeper more effective massage; which is also incredibly relaxing.

Hot Stone Massage

Traditional Swedish Massage movements are used whilst the therapist holds heated volcanic basalt stones.

The heat from the stones relaxes the muscles, allowing aching and painful muscles to be eased more effectively and to smooth away tension, making for a truly relaxing massage. The tension is replaced by feelings of peace, calm, comfort and total relaxation.

Indian Head Massage

An Indian Head Massage lasts for 30 minutes so it is always accompanied by another treatment of your choice.

Indian Head Massage works by relieving tension in the head, neck, shoulders and upper arms; areas which hold a great deal of strain. This increases the blood flow to the rest of the body, which leaves you feeling relaxed and revitalised.

During an Indian Head Massage you remain fully clothed whilst sitting in a chair – but don’t be fooled, this is an extremely relaxing massage.

Indian Head Massage can be beneficial for:

Relieving tension that can often result in neck and back pain, headaches and migraines

Relieving mental fatigue

Improving circulation, which in turn increases energy levels

Promoting clarity and increased concentration

Increasing feelings of peace, calm and well-being

It is very useful when studying or for those with minds that don’t stop!

“One treatment that is guaranteed to lift you out of the stresses of daily life and provide you with a real cure for those aching, tense neck and shoulder muscles is the ancient art of Indian Head Massage” - Narendra Mehta
